The bus inched along the concrete security barrier separating Bethlehem from the outskirts of Jerusalem, arriving at a large gateway adorned with a massive sculpture of a key, symbolizing the yearning of Palestinian refugees to return to their original homes.

Tiyul-Rihla leads Kids4Peace on a tour meant to provide Jerusalem youths with a multi-narrative educational view and “toward overcoming collective fears and reclaiming the historic Old City as their own.”

As we drove out of the city I reflected on a day of contradictions and tensions.
While I can’t say the visit left me optimistic, it did give me a glimmer hope.

La question posée « Une réconciliation est-elle possible de la France avec l’Algérie d’une part et entre Israéliens et Palestiniens d’autre part » a reçu une réponse nuancée.

“Why are you even going on this trip?” a friend of mine asked... “Do you think this will solve the conflict?” I honestly don’t know what I thought.
